Prepare manufactured machinery for paint by cleaning off any unwanted residue or particles.
Clean and tack machine free from grease and dirt to set up and get ready for paint.
Fill cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.
Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated, removes tape from machine after paint.
Uses pressure washer to clean, spray off and add coatings to machine and parts for painting, and remove any unwanted particles from equipment.
Also clean off particles from equipment for shipping.
Removes rust from metal with electriobrush, DA sander, wire brush, or steel wool. Must be able to operate forklift and heavy equipment.
Qualifications: Six (6) month to one (1) year experience on automotive or heavy equipment. Must be at least 18 years old for this position.
Work Environment: Must be willing to work in a heavy manufacturing environment, with exposure to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals.
Physical Demands: While performing this job, an employee will be required to frequently walk, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
The employee will occasionally be required to climb 8-12 feet and maintain balance.
The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision.
